Accoya is a sustainable and extremely durable type of wood. This is the result of a so-called acetylation process. No chemicals are added during this process, as acetyl is already naturally present in wood. The process merely changes the chemical structure, creating reliable wood species in which the ability to absorb water is greatly reduced. All this results in a very long lifespan: Accoya wood has a guaranteed 50 years of use above the ground.
What Weltevree products are made from Accoya wood?
Accoya wood is a low maintenance type of wood. It does not need a lot. We recommend light maintenance about twice a year:
- Spray the material with white vinegar
- Leave for about three days
- Clean the wood with water and a soft bristle brush or sponge
Possible stains can be cleaned with a moist cloth. Do so quickly to prevent them from soaking into the material. To make cleaning easier, you can treat the wood with a wood oil. This is not necessary to improve the lifespan of the wood.
Larch wood comes from the Larch tree, a softwood from Europe. It is a highly durable and environmentally friendly material. Due to its strong nature, larch wood is often used in outdoor furniture. Without treatment it lasts for around 10 to 15 years.
What Weltevree products are made from Larch wood?
To keep your Larch wood furniture in great shape, we recommend treating the wood with a wood oil about twice a year. This will slow down the aging process. Depending on the oil treatment of your choice, the frequency of maintenance and method can change. Sometimes it means light sanding of your furniture and sometimes it means using a sturdy brush.

The use of wood oil will help in easier cleaning and prevents mold if your furniture gets wet a lot, without a place to fully dry. If mold does appear, we recommend treating it with vinegar first, before moving onto heavier anti-mold treatments.
Douglas wood comes from the Douglas fir, a softwood from Northern Europe. It has a slight orange tone to it and the many lines from growth rings give it a warm appearance. Due to its highly durable nature, Douglas wood is often used in outdoor furniture. Without treatment it lasts for around 10 to 15 years.
What Weltevree products are made from Douglas wood?
The maintenance of Douglas wood is similar to that of Larch wood. Treat the wood with a wood oil about twice a year to slow down the aging and keep it in great shape. Depending on the oil treatment of your choice, the frequency and maintenance can change.
Douglas wood does well in rainy conditions, but it is important to let it dry from time to time to prevent mold. If your Douglas wood furniture gets wet a lot, treatment with oil is a must. When mold does appear, try treating the wood with vinegar first, before moving onto heavier anti-mold treatments.
The Outdooroven is made from a special type of steel called Corten Steel. This material oxidizes over time and forms a layer of rust, making this material very strong. Thanks to this rust layer the Outdooroven is protected against wind and rain, and further oxidation is prevented.
Maintenance and cleaning
Since Corten steel protects itself in a way, there is not a lot of maintenance required. However, there are things you can do to help the protective layer:
- We recommend frequent cleaning of the steel with a sturdy brush. The dirt from the smoke can settle on the rust layer, causing it to be less stable. Keeping it clean with a sturdy brush will prolong the lifespan of your Outdooroven and will keep it in great shape.
- Always make sure your product is situated in a place where it can quickly dry after rain.
