This years OBJECT Rotterdam, held last weekend, exchanged cruise ship SS Rotterdam for a new and special location: the HAKA building in Rotterdam, an industrial national monument from 1931. Located in the city harbors of Rotterdam and with a very characteristic industrial appearance, the HAKA building offered a creative platform for established names and young talent in the field of fashion, art and design. Weltevree showed the Tablebench to the Dutch public for the first time, including a part of their iconic outdoor collection.
Weltevree was accompanied by more than a hundred established names and upcoming designers who showed their projects, prototypes and products to design-interested. Director of OBJECT Anne van der Zwaag; “I took over OBJECT from Art Rotterdam six years ago, when it was a fairly small exhibition with mainly design galleries, I changed the format, focused on the designers themselves and created an interdisciplinary platform. From industrial designers to fashion, graphic and also architectural designers, established names mixed with very young talents “.
This year the public was surprised by a dynamic mix of presentations from various designers and labels. Visitors could discover no less than four floors, speak with designers and even buy their products. The open and relaxed atmosphere created a successful OBJECT weekend for Weltevree. Thank you all for visiting the world of Weltevree and hope to see you soon!
